
Beef Ularthiyathu is a traditional Kerala style dish which is very tasty and spicy, perfect for Christmas and Easter celebrations. Beef Ularthiyathu recipe added here is prepared by the instructions of my mom (Ammachi), she is the master of my recipe experiments.
We will have a look, what are the ingredients need for this Kerala Special Beef Fry.
Ingredients
Beef – 1/2 kg
Ginger – 1 small piece
Garlic – 1 bunch
Green Chilli – as required
Small Onion (chopped) – 2 tablespoon
Onion – 1 small size
Tomato – 1 small size
Curry leaves and coriander leaves
Coconut pieces – 1 table spoon
Perumjeerakam (fennel seed) – 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – as required
Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
Pepper powder – as required
Turmeric powder – half teaspoon
Salt – as required

PREPARATION
#1. Cut the beef into small pieces and cleaned well. Marinate this with turmeric powder, pepper powder, ginger and garlic and salt. Then cook it separately in a pressure cooker.
#2. Heat coconut oil in a pan,add perumjeerakam, chopped ginger, garlic , green chilli, shallots (small onion) and onion respectively and sauté well.
#3. Add some curry leaves and coconut pieces also. Once the onion gets brown, lower the flame and add coriander powder, turmeric , chili powder and garam masala. Saut for 2 minutes, then add tomatoes. Once the tomato cooked well, add beef into the masala and mixed well and make it dry.
#4. Add enough salt and curry leaves, pepper powder and coriander leaves. At the final stage we can add some coconut oil onto it and flame off.
Yummy tasty beef ularthu is ready.
